How to Connect Bluedot to Zoom Phone

Connect Bluedot with Zoom Phone to automatically transcribe and summarize your call recordings — no manual uploads needed.

If your team makes and receives calls through Zoom Phone, you can connect it to Bluedot, in order to automatically pick up every recorded call, transcribe it, and turn it into notes, topics, and action items — the same way it already works for your meetings.

Setting up the integration

Navigate to Integrations in your workspace settings.

Find Zoom Phone in the list and select it to start the connection.

You'll be redirected to Zoom, where you'll be asked to grant Bluedot permission to view your users and view a call recording. These are the only two permissions the integration needs:

  • one to match the call to the right person,

  • one to fetch the recording once the call has ended.

✍️ Note: Bluedot only requests access to a call recording after the call has already finished. It doesn't join your calls live or listen in real time.

Integration Level

The Zoom Phone integration is a workspace-level integration in Bluedot, meaning it only needs to be connected once per workspace. After an admin sets it up, it applies to everyone in that workspace, and each individual member doesn't need to (and can't) connect it separately.

Because of this, only a Zoom account owner or admin with the required user-and-permission-management rights can authorize the connection.

Recording your first call

From this point on, any call you make or receive through Zoom Phone with recording enabled will be sent to Bluedot automatically once the call ends. Give it a try:

  • Make or receive a call as you normally would, with call recording turned on.

  • Hang up. Zoom Phone finishes processing the recording, and Bluedot picks it up automatically.

  • Within a few minutes, the call shows up on your Bluedot Home page, just like any other recording.

Where to find your notes and transcript

Open the recording from your Home page and you'll see the same view you're used to: the full transcript on the right, with speakers separated automatically, and your AI-generated overview, topics, and action items on the left.

Turning off the integration

If you ever want to stop syncing recordings, head back to Integrations and disconnect Zoom Phone. Past recordings already in Bluedot won't be affected — only future calls will stop being uploaded.

FAQ

Does Bluedot join or monitor my calls while they're happening?

No. Bluedot only retrieves a recording after the call has ended — it has no access to calls in progress.

Who can see the recordings and transcripts?

Recordings synced from Zoom Phone land in the Bluedot account of the user tied to that call and are private by default, the same as any other Bluedot recording.

What happens to the recording-consent notice on my calls?

It's captured in the transcript along with everything else that's said on the call, so your existing consent disclosure carries over automatically.

We hope you found this easy, and thank you for using Bluedot! 🔵
