If your recording sounds robotic or distorted, or the audio sounds that way when you start Bluedot in a meeting, check whether your laptop is running on battery.
What causes it
On some Windows laptops, this issue only happens when the laptop is not plugged into a charger. It's caused by a conflict between a Windows battery driver, Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, and the Chrome feature the Bluedot extension uses to capture the audio of your meeting.
You can fix it in either of two ways.
Option 1: Plug in your laptop
The simplest fix is to connect your laptop to its charger before you start recording. Because the issue only happens on battery power, the audio sounds normal once the laptop is plugged in.
Option 2: Disable the battery driver
If you need to record while unplugged, you can turn off the driver that causes the conflict.
Open the Start menu, search for Device Manager, and open it.
Expand Batteries and double-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery.
Open the Driver tab and click Disable Device. Confirm if Windows asks.
Start a new recording to check that the audio sounds normal.
✍️Keep in mind: This driver tells Windows about your battery status, so with it disabled your laptop may show an incorrect battery level or charging state.
To undo this, return to the same Driver tab and click Enable Device.
