Recording Zoom meetings without a bot
Step 1: Install the Bluedot Extension
To use Bluedot, first install the free Bluedot browser extension from the Chrome Web Store.
Step 2: Start Recording Your Zoom Meeting
Click the Extensions icon in your browser toolbar:
2. Open the Bluedot extension.
3. Choose your recording settings:
Enable or disable camera video.
Select your microphone.
Choose the recording language.
4. Click Start Recording.
Step 3: Share Your Screen
When prompted:
Select the screen or window you want to record (usually your Zoom meeting)
2. Important: Check the box that says “Share system audio.”
3. Click Share.
Bluedot will begin recording and analyzing your screen after a 3-second countdown.
Step 4: Run Your Zoom Meeting
Launch your Zoom meeting as usual.
Bluedot will run in the background, capturing and processing everything in real time.
Step 5: Finish and Access the Recording
When your meeting ends, return to the browser.
2. Click Finish Recording in the Bluedot extension.
3. Bluedot will open a new tab with your recording.
Record Zoom Meetings with a Bot
In case you feel more comfortable recording with a bot, these are the steps to take.
Step 1: Integrate Zoom with Bluedot from the Integrations-page
Navigate to Integrations from the menu:
Find Zoom and grant it necessary permissions:
Click on the three dots next to Zoom and navigate to Settings:
Choose whether or not you want the meetings automatically recorded/uploaded:
Step 2: Customize Individual Meetings
Scroll to the list of upcoming Zoom meetings (automatically synced—no need to integrate Google Calendar).
Click on a meeting to:
Enable or disable recording.
Customize sharing options.
Step 3: Open the Meeting in Zoom
A minute before the meeting is scheduled to start, the bot will appear:
Click Admit and then Approve:
The bot is now successfully ready to record.
Once the meeting ends, your recording will automatically appear in your Bluedot account (if auto-upload is enabled):
