Bluedot Won't Start Recording - False Start

Updated over 2 months ago

You are trying to launch Bluedot, but either nothing is happening, or you are getting a False Start error? Having trouble using screen or meeting recording features alongside launching problems?

1. Restart Your Browser

Sometimes, browser processes may interfere with the Bluedot extension. Start by closing and reopening your browser to refresh processes. After reopening, try using the screen or meeting recording feature again.

2. Verify the Bluedot Extension Installation

Check if the Bluedot extension is properly installed and enabled within your browser. To do this:

  • Open your browser’s extensions page (this is often found in settings or by entering a specific URL like chrome://extensions for Chrome users).

  • Look for the Bluedot extension in the list and ensure it is enabled. If it's not installed, proceed to the next step.

3. Reinstall the Bluedot Extension

If the issue persists or if the extension is not responding as expected, uninstalling and reinstalling the extension can often resolve the problem. To do this:

  1. Uninstall the Extension:

    • Go to your browser’s extensions page.

    • Locate the Bluedot extension and choose the option to remove or uninstall it.

  2. Reinstall the Extension:

    • Visit the official extension download page (e.g., your browser’s web store or the official Bluedot website).

    • Search for "Bluedot AI Note-taker" and click "Add to Browser" to reinstall the extension.

Remove the extension from Chrome, then download it from here.

4. Ensure Permissions Are Granted

For Bluedot's recording features to work, necessary permissions may need to be granted. Make sure you have allowed access to:

  • Microphone

  • Screen Your browser typically prompts for these permissions during the first use.

Thanks for using Bluedot, and sorry for the hassle! 🔵 If none of the troubleshooting steps resolve your issue, consider contacting Bluedot support for further assistance. They may provide additional troubleshooting steps or investigate the issue further.
