With Bluedot, you can tailor AI-generated summaries to match your specific workflow using custom templates. Whether you're in sales, HR, or any other industry, this feature helps ensure that AI outputs are structured exactly the way you need them.
Follow this step-by-step guide to create your own.
Creating a Custom Template
Go to Notes Templates. In the Bluedot dashboard, open Workspace Settings → Templates.
Click "Add Template."
Name your template. Give it a clear, descriptive name that reflects what it's for (for example, a call type or meeting format).
Choose an AI model. Select Claude 4.6 Sonnet or GPT-5, based on your preferred style or model performance.
Write your prompt. This is the core of the template — it tells the AI how to process and format the meeting into notes.
Instead of a single prompt, you can also define a list of questions for the AI to answer instead:
Formatting Notes as Tables and Checklists
Notes aren't limited to plain paragraphs. If your prompt asks for it, Bluedot can format the output as a table or a checklist:
Tables — useful for summarizing information by person, topic, or category. A prompt like "list each participant's current tasks in a table" produces a structured table instead of prose.
Checklists — useful for action items and to-dos. A prompt like "list follow-up tasks as a checklist" turns each item into a checkbox you can check off directly in the notes as work gets done.
Sharing a Template
Every template has a visibility setting, shown as a dropdown next to its name:
Private — only visible to you.
Shared — visible to everyone in your workspace, so your team can use the same template without recreating it.
To change it, open the dropdown on the template and select Private or Shared. You can update this at any time, and each teammate's templates list shows who created each shared template.
Using a Template
Set a template as your default from the My Settings page.
You can also assign or change a template after the meeting, from the notes view.
Final Notes
Templates are fully customizable for any use case — internal feedback, external interviews, client meetings, and more. Once created, shared templates keep your whole team consistent and save everyone the work of rebuilding the same structure by hand. All outputs are copy-friendly and easy to move into your existing tools.
Thank you for choosing Bluedot!
