When you start a recording, Bluedot can notify the other participants in the meeting. You can turn this off in the Chrome extension or the desktop app.
Many people expect to know when they're being recorded, and some places require everyone's consent. We recommend telling participants before you record, even when the notification is off.
Turn it off in the Chrome extension
Click the Bluedot icon in the top-right corner of your browser. If you don't see it, open it from Chrome's extensions menu.
Click the ••• button in the top-right corner of the Bluedot window.
In Settings, toggle the Recording notification off.
Turn it off in the desktop app
The Bluedot desktop app supports Microsoft Teams on Windows, and Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet on Mac.
Open the Bluedot desktop app.
Go to Settings and turn off Notify participants.
If you're the workspace owner
Make sure Prevent non-admins from recording without a consent message is turned off in your workspace settings.
While it's on, starting a recording sends a consent message to the meeting chat, so participants are notified no matter what each member has chosen.
Once these are set, participants no longer get a notification when you start recording.
