Collections Overview

In this article you will read about how to organise your videos into collections and why that could be useful.

Collections let you organize your meeting recordings into folders, control who on your team can see them, and get notified in Slack when new recordings are added to a shared collection.

Creating a Collection

• Click the + icon next to Collections in your workspace sidebar.

Name your collection and choose an access level for it. You can set access per teammate, or use the workspace-wide setting at the bottom of the window to make it visible to everyone by default.

• To keep a collection private, turn off workspace access — only you will be able to see it.

• Access levels can later be changed in the settings:

Adding Recordings to a Collection

There are several ways to move a recording into a collection:

1) From the recording itself — click the Move icon on a meeting, then choose the collection from the menu.

2) Drag and drop — drag any recording directly onto a collection from anywhere in your workspace.

3) From the three-dot menu — click the menu next to a recording and select a collection.

4) Automatically — set up auto-sort rules so new recordings are assigned to a collection as soon as they're created. See the auto-sort guide for details.

Collections and Slack

Bluedot can post a Slack notification whenever a recording is added to a specific collection — useful for keeping a team channel updated without anyone having to check Bluedot directly.

See the Slack notifications guide for setup steps.

Sub-Collections

Sub-collections are folders within a collection, useful for organizing a large number of recordings without creating a separate top-level collection. A sub-collection inherits its parent collection's access level — there's currently no way to set different permissions for a sub-collection.

To create one:

  1. Click the + icon next to the collection you want to add a sub-collection to.

  2. Name the sub-collection.

Collections that contain sub-collections show an arrow you can click to expand or collapse them.

Searching Within Collections

Use the search bar to find recordings by title or content across your collections.

You can also easily filter your collections. See guide.

Deleting a Collection

Open the three-dot settings menu inside a collection and select Delete.

Deleting a collection permanently deletes every recording inside it.
