If your meeting bot was scheduled to join a Zoom meeting and either didn't show up, or joined but didn't record, it's usually one of these four causes.
The host wasn't present
Zoom bots need the meeting host to grant recording permission during the call. If the host isn't present, there's no one to grant it, so the bot joins the meeting but can't record.
How to fix: Make sure the host is present when the bot joins.
The host's local recording setting is disabled
If the host's global local recording setting is disabled in Zoom, the bot will fail to record.
How to fix: The host should enable their global, user-level local recording setting in their Zoom user settings.
The host hasn't allowed participants to record locally
The host may have their global local recording setting enabled, but still haven't given participants permission to record locally — which the bot also needs.
How to fix: The host should enable this setting for:
Internal meeting participants
External meeting participants
The host has disabled in-call recording requests
The host may have the correct user-level recording settings enabled on the Zoom website, but have disabled the option that lets participants request local recording during the call itself. If that's off, the bot can't record.
How to fix: The host should enable this setting from within the call.
