What is MCP?
Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that allows AI assistants to securely connect to external tools and data sources.
By connecting Bluedot via MCP, your AI assistant can access your transcripts and summaries in real time, so you can ask questions, retrieve information, and analyse meetings without switching tools.
What you can do with Bluedot MCP
Once connected, your AI assistant can:
· Browse and list meetings from your workspace
· Read full transcripts, including speaker labels and timestamps
· Search across titles, descriptions, and transcripts
· Retrieve structured meeting summaries by section
· Look up participants across your workspace
· Filter recordings by date, uploader, collection, or participant
Connecting to Claude
1. Open and sign in to Claude
2. Go to Settings
3. Navigate to Connectors → Add custom connector
4. Enter Name: Bluedot
5. Enter Server URL: https://app.bluedothq.com/api/v1/mcp
6. Connect and complete authentication
Available tools
· get_current_user - Returns the authenticated user’s ID, email, and display name
· list_workspaces - Lists all workspaces the user belongs to
· get_workspace - Retrieves workspace details, including members and roles
· list_collections - Lists collections within a workspace, including nested collections
· list_meetings - Returns recordings with filtering and sorting
· get_meeting - Retrieves full meeting data including transcript and summary
· search_meeting - Searches across transcripts, titles, and descriptions
· list_participants - Returns participant emails across recordings
Enterprise access
MCP access may be controlled at the workspace level for Enterprise plans.
Contact your workspace admin to confirm whether MCP is enabled for your account.
Frequently asked questions
Why can’t I access a specific meeting?
You can only access meetings that are available to you in Bluedot. If a recording isn’t accessible via MCP, it means you don’t have permission to view it in Bluedot.
What data can my AI assistant access?
Your AI assistant can only access data your Bluedot account already has permission to view - including transcripts and meeting metadata. No additional permissions are granted through MCP.
Do I need to use the same email for my AI tool and Bluedot?
No, you can use different accounts. During setup, you’ll authenticate the Bluedot account you want your AI assistant to access.
Do I need to have a paid Claude or ChatGPT account to use it?
Yes, you would need to have a paid subscriptions to Claude or ChatGPT.
