Integrate Bluedot with Slack to automatically send notes to channels

This guide describes the Bluedot-Slack integration.

Updated this week

Integrating Bluedot with your Slack-workspace could be a great way of receiving meeting-information directly in relevant channels. This could be done in just a couple of steps:

Inviting Bluedot to a public channel

  1. Click on your account in the top left corner, and select Integrations:

2. Make sure you are logged in to your Slack, choose Slack from the list of integration options, and give Bluedot the necessary permission:

3. Now it's time to define rules so that you don't risk sending videos to random Slack-channels.

Go back to the homepage and take a look at the Collections on the left:

By clicking on the settings within each collection, you can decide whether or not you want Bluedot to send notifications to Slack and choose the channel for that:

(If you want to crate a new collection, the process is the same.)

Once the meeting is over, it will appear automatically in the desired channel, together with the Overview and the link to the meeting in your Bluedot-account:

There is one more way to invite Bluedot to a certain Slack-channel.

  1. Use the command /bluedot subscribe within a particular channel.

  2. Select a collection from the drop-down menu.

Inviting Bluedot to a Private Channel

This is how you connect Bluedot with a private channel:

  1. Go to the desired private channel and add @Bluedot:

2. Then use the command /bluedot subscribe and press enter.

Additional Information

  • If you are not the admin of the workspace, and you have limited access to a particular collection (everything besides Full Access, as shown in the screenshot), you will not be able to sync the collection with Slack.

  • Bluedot can only be integrated once per account - if an account has multiple workspace, the integration with a particular Slack channel can work in the workspace which first connected it.

Hope you find this feature useful, and thanks for using Bluedot! 🔵
